Holiday Reds: Korres LE "Vintage Red" Collection for A/W 2013-2014!

The final installment in my Korres mini review series for A/W 2013-2014 will be today's post on the "Vintage Red" Collection. I deliberately left this one last: I couldn't think of a better time to talk about it than the holidays - I don't know about you, but I've always thought reds went hand in hand with Christmas dinner and New Year's Eve kisses! So, let's get down to business!

The Vintage Red collection includes three shades from the new Raspberry Twist Lipstick formula, as well as two nail colours, all of them in beautiful rich red hues. Let's have a look at the lipsticks first!

The three shades include: Passion, a true fiery red, Lust, a rosy/berry red, and Desire, a deep grape red. What's interesting about all three of them, is that I can wear them all, despite my neutral-to-pink undertones. Naturally, Lust and Desire (my personal favorite which will be my NYE lip color of choice) suit me the most, due to their cooler undertones, but I can still pull off Passion - if I was going for a super loud, almost neon red, that is! I've already talked about the Raspberry Twist Lipstick consistency in my previous review: it applies like a balm, but despite the sheer texture, you can still get some great buildable coverage that lasts for many hours. If, however, your lips are on the drier side, do prep them before you put them on! ;)

Now, I don't own that many reds in my collection, so finding dupes wasn't that easy. I did notice, though, that Lust is in the same color family as Illamasqua Drench (a shade I believe to be now discontinued) and that Desire is a slightly lighter and purplier version of MAC Diva.

As for the nail colours in this collection, you'll see that they're pretty much the nail polish... counterparts of two of the lipsticks:

52 Passion Red, is a true vibrant red (that is sure to turn a head or two!), while 58 Desire Red, is a vampier deep grape colour (totally up my alley). As for the textures, Passion Red is a weird mix: it has the sheerness and luminosity of a jelly, as well as the small paricles (in the bottle, photo above) and coverage of a shimmer finish. Desire Red, on the other hand is a pretty standard micro-shimmer nail polish, that almost reads metallic from a distance. Yet again, like the rest of the nail colours in this collection, I achieved an even result, after two quick coats.

Korres's LE A/W 2013-2014 makeup collection also includes the "Romantic Nude" Collection, and the "Winter Gloom" Collection (hit the links for the full monty).

So, now, you can tell me! Which one is your favorite?
And what shades have you singled out? :)

    1. @Clare Visionarybeauty: That's funny, because I believe you guys get different stuff from their bodycare lines over there! Eh, that's the one thing that drives me mental about Korres: the releases are never exactly the same internationally! That said, I hope you had the chance to test these ones out! :)
