7 Deadly Beauty Sins Tag and a new blog feature!!!

Bit of a random, "spur of the moment" type of post again, I'm afraid, but one that you'll hopefully find equally as interesting!

I'll start off with something familiar to you all, namely a tag that's been doing the rounds on YT lately, and one that I've been meaning to write about for a while now (huge Se7en fan), but the lovely Argyrousa beat me to it (hehe):

The 7 Deadly Beauty Sins Tag!

Questions:

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
My most inexpensive beauty item, obviously excluding samples, gifts-with-purchases and swap extras, would have to be my NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils. (You can score some excellent deals on those on ebay if you buy them in sets of 3 or 6). ;)
My most expensive beauty item would definitely have to be my Chanel Lumiere Sculptee Highlighting Powder (but no regrets here, I love the bloody thing)!

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
Hmm, I don't really think I have a love/hate relationship with any beauty product at the moment (I've gotten rid of anything that would drive me insane). But if I have to pick, I'd go with peach blusher: sometimes it works on me and sometimes it just doesn't.
As for the one item that was the hardest to get my hands on, well, this would have to be it:

MAC Spiced Chocolate Quad from Cult of Cherry. Looking back now, I think I could have survived without the hunt for it (though don't get me wrong, it's a lovely palette) - I just don't tend to reach for it these days.

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
Becca Sheer Lip Tints. That caramel scent and gorgeous sheen - YUM! In fact, I can't wait to get the newest one from the Balearic Love collection, Valentina!

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
Another one that neglects face primer over here! Who can honestly bother with yet another product to layer on top of serum, moisturiser, sunscreen and foundation? Not me, that's for sure (even typing all of those sounds exhausting).

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
Blush. Hands down. Otherwise I look like an extra from Corpse Bride (minus the cuteness factor people).

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
Yes... the odd (and gay unfriendly) question in the tag (there's always at least one every time). But, since I have to answer, I'd have to admit that I appreciate kind-yet-piercing eyes, chiseled jaws, broad shoulders and infectious laughter. That and swagger. Hey, I'm a tough crowd to please! :D

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
I'm extremely lucky and grateful for everything I already have, but I wouldn't say no to a new blush (Holika Holika makes some cute cat designs if aaaanyone's reading this, also Horizon Blush de Chanel wouldn't hurt either, or maybe just your wallet) or the Fresh Brown Sugar Affair gift set! :) (Dream ooon, dream oooon)

Since I'm unsure of the rules of the tag, I'll just tag the people whose answers would entertain me the most:
Lipstick Wardrobe
Blushing Loves
Modesty Brown
The Gloss Goss
Suka&Spice (you HAVE to do it)

Everyone's more than welcome to do it though! :)

I'm closing today's post with a new feature for All the Vanity: "In My Makeup Bag This Week"!

Sundays are ideal for picking out makeup items for the upcoming week - it's a shame to have it all just sit there, so this way I can rotate them and experiment some more with possible looks and combinations. I'm yet undecided if this will be a weekly or a "twice a month" feature, as I'd like to show a completely different selection each time and I'm not sure if one week is enough to get bored of certain items.

So, for the upcoming week(s), I'll be using:

A trio of Sally Girl eyeshadows (swap extras, mediocre pigmentation, but perfect for everyday/uni/errands), Chanel Lumiere Sculptee Highlighter, Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural, MAC Fascinating Eye Kohl, Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara (very blah, almost done with it), MAC Icescape lipglass and Etude House VIP lipstick in PK007 (total YSL Lingerie Pink dupe, but in a more satin finish).

And that's it for now!

So, what are you currently using/loving? What do you think of this feature?
Let me know if you do the tag! :)

What's your opinion?

  1. I am planning to do this tag since a long time, I 'll try to post it soon. I think it's really nice and funny.

    1. @ladyb: Thank you doll! As for Becca, besides the lip tints, which are a must-try, I've experimented a bit with their beach tints (can't say I was all that impressed, contrary to everyone else that's tried them) and their cake liners (thumbs up). I'm waiting on an order atm, for another sheer lip tint, and there's a little Shimmering Skin Perfector as a GWP that I'm eager to try and review!
PS: Becca is only available to me online (zuneta and lookfantastic).

  7. Oh I'm so doing this tag too!!!

Also, I very much welcome your new blog feature! Love to see what my gurls are wearing day-to-day, though I have to protest- where's your heart lady? Are you going to wear this divine Chanel highlighter THAT soon after purchase? [Cause it took me nearly 2 months before I started experimenting with Bronze Universel as I didn't want to ruin the "poured cream" surface...] I can't stop admiring this baroque-ish pattern, it's insanely pretty to look at! Sigh, no "drugstore" makeup can make you dream like high-end products do! xx

    1. @cbsg5861: Ahahahahaha, yessss, I most certainly dived into my Chanel highlighter straight away!!! I adored the effect instantly and atm I'm not straying away from it for anything else! Tbh though, I'm only dipping the brush on the left side of it, seems a little wrong to let the intricate surface completely fade away...! ;) xxx

  14. I like your idea of "What's in your makeup bag this week" :) At the least it encourages you to be more experimental with your makeup so perhaps you'll get better use out of products that you wouldn't reach for otherwise. My makeup bag has been the same for the past year and a half pretty much! (boring!)
That's a really neat tag that you did on makeup :)
So you would like to get the Fresh Brown Sugar Scrub set? I just finished a tub of the Fresh Brown Sugar that Dale bought for me....and honestly I wouldn't recommend it. The granules are so large that whenever I even gently scrubbed, it seemed like the granules would fly everywhere since they were so big they wouldn't adhere well to my skin and exfoliate. I don't think I did a great job at explaining it but it's definitely a product I wouldn't re-purchase.
Oh and I agree with all that you wrote on what attracts you to the opposite sex ;)

    1. @Karen Law: Omg, you have no idea how helpful this feature has been already, I've come up with a couple of new looks/combinations that work for me (and one that doesn't) and I've dug out a few long unused items as well! I strongly suggest you try it out too! ;)
Hmmmm... ok, now you got me thinking abt the Fresh Brown Sugar scrub (and I do trust you on scrubs completely)! Sounds like the ones from TBS, they used to be like that, right now I think they must have reformulated, cos the formula is a lot more moisturising (aka oily). I still wanna try the whole set though, just to see what everyone else is talking about (especially the lip balm that everyone loves)!
And I'm SO smiling, finding out that we have the same taste in not just makeupy stuff! Hahaha!!! PS: We need to tweet or email, this comment section is SO not cutting it anymore missy! xxx
