So, what's in my makeup bag?

It's been a while since I've done one of these "what's in my makeup bag" posts on here, so, I figured I'd strike back with an updated version (that, and I'm a little too pressed for time to make any proper reviews).

So, if you care to find out what kinds of junk I carry around with me, do keep reading:

Neatly placed inside my Lancaster makeup bag (the one that I keep coming back to thanks to its convenient size and sturdy zipper), one can find:

1. The Balm Sexy Mama Anti Shine Translucent Powder.
2. The Body Shop Roseflower Blush in Pink.
3. Chanel Lumiere Sculptee Highlighting Powder.
4. Mont Bleu pocket mirror.
5. MAC 168 se.
6. MAC 219 se.
7. Sephora kabuki No 50.
8. L'Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer in 860 Fair/Clair.
9. MAC Eye Khol in Fascinating.
10. L'Oreal black kohl - super old, so the name has faded.
11. Sephora Proffessionnel pencil sharpener.
12. The Body Shop Chocomania Lip Butter.
13. Christina Aguilera Royal Desire.
14. MAC lipstick in Amorous.
15. Korres lipliner in no 5 Purple Red
16. CARGO lipgloss in Fresno.

Ok, seeing that I have 16 items in my makeup bag made me giddy, 16 is my favourite number! :)

EDIT: I bet that some of you are thinking "yeah right, as if she carries all that with her all the time". Truth be told, I don't: if I'm out to pay my bills and grab some milk, of course I won't be taking my makeup bag with me, I'm not *that* vain.
If, however, I know that I'll be outside for a while, with friends etc (usually when coffee-turns-to-dinner-turns-to-drinks kind of a situation), then I'll usually have brought this with me. The idea, for me, is not to carry a complete face of makeup, but, rather the items that I'll need in order to touch up or that will help me turn my day look into something more evening-appropriate.

What do you carry inside your makeup bag?
Do you pack more or less than what you usually need?

What's your opinion?

  1. I see you too carry only the essentials..lol And I was thinking about the Christina Aguilera! Where did you get it from? See that kinda posts make my wish list even bigger..I loved this post you always surprise me!!

    1. @Blushingloves Irene Greece: Yep, just the essentials for me, since I don't need to completely start from scratch, no more mascara or foundation bottles for me, that I know I won't use! The Christina Aguilera perfume line is in Sephora, but this is the only one imo that doesn't smell like a celebrity perfume, if you know what I mean!
Hehe, apologies for expanding your wishlist!

  2. How do you like the chocomania lip butter?

    1. @Lauren: It's ice the scent is lovely, but if you have dry or chapped lips, this may not be good enough. I've reviewed it in the past, here

  4. and I thought I was the only one to carry a large make up bag...kidding :):) I usually carry my powder of the moment for tought ups, conciler for the same reason, 1-2 lipsticks and liners, a mascara in case it's smudged, a natural eye shadow, a brow liner, my perfume, a blusher, what else? Depends on the mood, and then I complain that my bag is too heavy, ha ha!!

  5. I don't usually bring my makeup with me, unless it's some lip balm or lip gloss! And waterproof mascara if it's summer and I go swimming :)

  6. Love this kind of posts! Blame my nosey self ;)

I'd love to go back to TBS lip butters but they seem to dry out my lips, if it makes any sense! How's that Korres lip liner, is it any good? Also, do you think it's worth investing in a Mac brush set rather than buying each brush separately?

    1. @Evi: Yeah, I know what you're mean, about the TBS lip butters, they are ok, but if you do need serious moisture they won't provide it, I think they just tend to sit on top!
I'll be reviewing the Korres lip liner soon, but yeah, overall I really do like it!
As for the MAC brush sets, NO! The quality of the sets is nowhere near the single brushes. However, at this point, I wouldn't go down the MAC road, Sigma makes excellent MAC dupes, for a much better price!
