Korres LE "Romantic Nude" Collection for A/W 2013-2014!

Accoring to the... beauty forecast for A/W 2013, the "no makeup" makeup look is one of this season's biggest trends, making nude and beige tones a definite must-try. This, was something that didn't go unnoticed by Korres's creative team, who recently released their "Romantic Nude" Collection, which I'll be reviewing for you today!

The Romantic Nude collection features three lipsticks from the newly introduced Raspberry Twist Lipstick range and two nail colours. Let's take a closer look at the lipsticks first, shall we?

The three shades are: Innocence, a peach/beige nude, Elegance, a light pink nude, and Romance, a light pink coral shade. In my opinion, all three shades are universally flattering, even Innocence and Elegance (my personal favorite) which certainly avoid the over-the-top, corpse-like nude effect! As for the new Raspberry Twist formula, it reminded me that of Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains: it provides a sheer, yet buildable coverage, while adding a subtle shine to your lips. I didn't find them to be particularly moisturising, but they're definitely not drying either, which probably explains their fairly long-lasting ability: Romance was still visible after three hours of wear, leaving my lips with an even color stain.

And, if you're a dupe fiend, like myself, you might want to hear that Innocence is close to MAC High Tea, and Elegance veeery close to MAC Hue. The textures, obviously differ: think of Korres's offerings as the... balmier versions of the MAC ones!

As for the two nail colors of this collection, you can select between 10 Romance Pink, a dusty pink/mauve, that will surely excite all of you Metro Chic & Angora Cardi fanatics out there, and 31 Nude, a creamy beige:

Now, as you can see, 10 Romance Pink is a better match for my skintone, since the warmness of 31 Nude tints my nails with a not so favorable yellow hue. I can see why brunettes and reds enjoy this shade so much (I know my mum would absolutely love this!), but, I'd advise those with very pale skin and natural or blue undertones to opt for something else instead. Both polishes, however, were very easy to apply and with two coats you're left with an even, creme finish.

Despite my fallout with one of the nail polishes, I appreciate that Korres brought out a very cohesive nude collection, and I've already singled out Elegance and 10 Romance Pink as the two neutral shades that will be adorning my lips and nails respectively for the upcoming months! :)

Korres's LE A/W 2013-2014 makeup collection also includes a "Winter Gloom" nail colour range (review & swatches here), and a "Vintage Red" collection, which will be up very soon!

    1. @evi: The two nuder shades didn't last that long on me either, but I found that the darker shades were pretty long lasting (I didn't use any lipliner with them)!

    1. @Emma Henderson: Thank you Emma! Truth be told, I didn't like it at first, but it's a really "fruity" shade of pink that I don't own! I think that it will be one of my favorites come spring! :) x
