Fear Not The White Eyeshadow...

...for it's as lovely and wearable as the rest of them! Seriously, think about it: why keep those white eyeshadows only for highlighting purposes, when they can be used all over the lid as well?

Granted, white eyeshadow is not the most obvious choice for a look, but I've been trying to create this winter "icy" look for some time now without going overboard with color (full on blue or purple lids kinda defeat the purpose in my opinion), so when I read somewhere that white was making a comeback this season (did it ever really leave the picture?), I thought to myself: "That's it"!

I'm not talking anything crazy here: just a wearable cool-toned makeup look, that can be adjusted from day to night (I'm wearing the nighttime version here, full metallic eyeliner and whatnot).

Here's what I used:

Face: Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 110 // L'Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer in Fair/Clair // The Balm Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Translucent Powder // Korres Monoi Oil Bronzing Powder in 02 Sunglow Warm // MAC Eyeshadow in Omega for the eyebrows // MAC Blush in Well Dressed (remember this one? Have people completely forgotten about it?).

Eyes: Max Factor Eyeshadow in 116 Wicked White (I've had this forever - you can use any white eyeshadow, in fact a matte version like MAC Gesso would look even better) // MAC Eyeshadow in Wedge used as a crease color (the key to make this look wearable!) // Barry M Metallic Liquid Eyeliner in No. 4 - Silver (for some extra nighttime shine) // MAC Pearlglide Eye Liner in Fly-By-Blu used on the lower lashline // MAC Eyeshadow in Deep Truth used to softly smudge Fly-By-Blu // Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara.

Lips: Sephora Lip Attitude Glamour in G08 Lilac Lyric // Smashbox Lipgloss in Pout.

Not bad, right?

Now, if I were to wear this during the day, I'd obviously skip the silver eyeliner and replace it with a light grey kohl or a grey eyeshadow for some extra definition on both lashlines. And while this is definitely a makeup look for those with fairer skin, I think that medium brunettes could pull it off by switching from the white eyeshadow to a beige one and from the cool-toned blush and lip color to slightly warmer toned versions!

What do you think?
Is white eyeshadow something you'd consider trying? :)

What's your opinion?
