My Christmas Nails: Revlon By Marchesa Nail Art 3D Jewel Appliques!
Post-Christmas greetings everyone! Hope you had a lovely chill day, filled with joy, food, and, why not, pressies (if you exchange presents on Christmas in your country)!
Things were quiet on the.. vanity front these days (a.k.a.: I spent most of my time relaxing and overeating, as you do), but, not without some festive glitz, I can assure you! Which, to me, this year meant two things: a) my red vintage tinsel jumper (grandma's closet, I kid you not), and b) the stunning Revlon By Marchesa Nail Art 3D Jewel Appliques in Jeweled Noir.
The deed was already decided when I first laid eyes on these beauties a few months ago: the combination of red and gold embellishments on a black base won my heart in an instant and I singled them out out of all the Revlon By Marchesa designs (hard task, since they're all gorgeous).
The kit comes with 18 nail stickers, a mini file and a mini cuticle stick, which are usually not included in most nail sticker kits, but, admittedly, come in very handy (props to whoever came up with the idea):
The application process was pretty standard: peel off the sticker that best fits your nail bed size, apply, and file off the excess at the tip, all really easy to do, thanks to the flexibility of the material. I just wish I had longer nails yesterday, they'd show up even better!
A word of warning: do NOT apply a top coat over these!!! It will set unevenly among the embellishments and you'll end up with a very unattractive result (as I painfully found out)! Yup. Lesson learned. Now I'll know not to mess them up next time I wear them (I'm thinking carnival season! Or maybe V-day before that?)! ;)
What's your favorite brand of nail wraps/stickers? And when do you wear them?
